"Cirque Mechanics: Pedal Punk"

High-flying bicycle acrobatics will be on display in “Cirque Mechanics: Pedal Punk,” steampunk-inspired show that will travel to Fort Smith for a 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 performance as part of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith’s Season of Entertainment 37.

The show will take place at the ArcBest Corp. Performing Arts Center in the Fort Smith Convention Center, located at 55 S. 7th St. Tickets are $27 or $25, depending on seating location.

The show, which The New York Times hailed as “exceptional, evocative, eye-catching and grossly entertaining,” offers audiences the opportunity to experience the excitement, artistry and thrill that occurs when a wacky bike shop mechanic interacts with cyclists and bikes.

Stacey Jones, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, said the show would be family-friendly and exciting.

“Cirque shows have a history of being family friendly, and this one is no different,” Jones said. “All the routines will be done on bikes, and the stunts they’re able to do are absolutely incredible. It’ll be great family-friendly entertainment. If you like Cirque, don’t miss this show.”

The concert is part of Season of Entertainment 37, a yearlong lineup of entertainment sponsored by the AV featuring a variety of plays, musicals and symphonic performances.
