Cultivate Your Artistic Talent at AV¶¶Òõ
AV¶¶Òõ is your first step in becoming a successful visual artist. Our programs in studio art & graphic design emphasize the fundamentals of fine arts, composition, and craftsmanship combined with the computer skills needed to be successful in our ever-evolving visual culture.
As a studio art or graphic design student, you'll learn from experienced and talented faculty in classrooms located within the inspiring Windgate Art and Design building. Small class sizes ensure you'll enjoy an individualized experience with creative explorations into drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, letterpress, and book arts.
Department Mission:
The AV¶¶Òõ Art & Design Department educates students for success in the fields of Graphic
Design and Studio Art. Through a practice of student-focused instruction and meaningful
mentorship, we promote a learning community centered on art, design, art history,
critical thinking and visual literacy. We provide Art & Design students opportunities
for artistic growth, professional accomplishment, and connection to creative communities.

B.A. in Studio Art
The Bachelor of Arts in studio art is your first step to a successful future in visual art. With a strong beginning in
foundations courses followed by an admissions portfolio review, the AV¶¶Òõ studio art
program provides students advanced study in drawing, painting, printmaking, digital

Studio Art Minor
The minor in studio art offers you a chance to broaden your academic experiences through a structured selection of beginning and advanced-level studio art and art history courses. B.S. in Graphic Design
Graphic design students receive hands-on instruction in a professional studio environment. Our small classes develop a strong sense of community among students and faculty. Art History Minor
In an increasingly visual world, art history provides necessary skills in examining and analyzing works of art throughout the span of history. This 18-hour minor provides entry to this engaging, multi-disciplinary field and prepares you for further study in art history while enhancing any major or career path with connections to history, culture, and communication.
